Biography

Cameron Hay-Rollins is a medical and psychological anthropologist who, since 2002, has held an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UCLA Center for Culture and Health in the Department of Psychiartry and BioBehavioral Sciences. She graduated from Grinnell College and earned her MA and Ph.D. degrees in anthropology from Emory University. Dr. Hay-Rollins heads a research team funded by an NSF Advance Fellows Award examining the role of patient information from the internet in clinical interactions. She is also exploring the psychoneuroimmunological implications of her research topic through a mentorship at the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology. At UCLA, Dr. Hay-Rollins has taught courses in medical anthropology and qualitative research methodologies in the Department of Anthropology, and is currently co-teaching first-year medical students in the Doctoring seminar.
